A Trip Down the Road

Ah, yes, feels good to let my fingers loose once again on the keyboard. It's been awhile since I've done so, for various reasons. All excuses, yes, but as John Lennon said, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." What with demolition and reconstruction of our house (otherwise known as remodeling), and computer issues, including no Internet on my newer computer (I'm on the old workhorse at present), I just haven't been bloggerly active. Wasn't in the mood. So, remind myself of a Ray Bradbury quote, and I'm seriously paraphrasing here, "Just sit down and write. That will take care of any of those moods you're having." Thanks for the reminder, Ray.

Wendy and I hadn't been on a trip out of town, just the two of us, since way before the beginning of house alterations, so I booked us a room at one of our favorite hotels in Louisville, Homewood Suites. On Tuesday this week, we headed out in the A.M., down US 60 toward Frankfort. Much more relaxing staying off the interstates as much as possible. First stop, breakfast, at Kountry Kitchen in Frankfort. A Mom-and-Pop diner that serves excellent food, especially breakfast. The pancakes, in particular, are the way pancakes should be done -- thin, with that golden-brown crust.

Breakfast done, we headed out, still on US60, for Louisville.

Okay, that's enough for now. More later.

Keep writing, friends.

    1. Thank you. My wife was driving, so it was definitely safer. I hadn't had my coffee quota yet. :-)
